Today we started our new topic ‘People and Places’ in Art.
We discuss some artwork shown with sketches of people drawn by a range of artists. Afterwards we took part in a guided draw to explore the technique of figure drawing. Children then had time to make sketches of the figure in their sketchbooks. We focused on the figure’s simple shapes and fluid lines and ignored finer details, such as facial features.
