We have had a really fantastic time in Wrens today. We started the day with Celebration assembly. This is usually on Friday, the children did so well with the change to Wednesday and I was so impressed with their listening behaviour for Mrs Magdeburg. When we came back to class we discovered that everyone in Wrens has received a certificate! We felt proud of ourselves and our friends.
We continued our learning about celebrations, particularly thinking about Diwali the festival of light. We designed Rangoli patters using mini mash on the Smartboard and using chalk outside, we decorated hand prints with mehndi patterns and we followed firework trails with our pencils and pens. Best of all we made our own edible sparklers! First we washed our hands then we mixed icing sugar and water, and we took turns to stir. We were very interested in how the powder changed to a smooth icing. We were also very interested in the yummy crunchy sprinkles! I hope the children enjoyed eating them after school.
