A Local Enquiry – Geography – Tuesday 17th December 2024

In Geography, Owls have been doing some research and went for a ‘field study’ walk around the village to help us to answer the question ‘What settlement patterns can we observe in our local area?’. The children were very well behaved on their walk and showed a good understanding of the layout of the village.

We found out lots of interesting facts about the history of Pirton and noticed how the settlement creates a triangular shape. We observed the different styles of houses, old and new and discussed why they are different. We also talked about how the population of Pirton affects the people who live there.
