We have had a wonderful week in Wrens. Mrs Cruise is thrilled with the progress we are making with our reading, we are beginning to blend sounds on our own! Room On The Broom was our Drawing Club book this week and we loved it, especially making up our own spells using the most disgusting ingredients we could think of!
In maths we did some subitising of the numbers 1, 2 and 3. This means knowing how many there our without counting the objects. We were brilliant at it. We also thought of different ways we could represent numbers and had a go at writing the numbers 1, 2, and 3.
We really enjoyed our Autumn walk around our school grounds during Forest School, we hunted for seeds that had fallen from the trees and had great fun investigating if green or brown sycamore seeds made the best helicopters. Brown won! We also spotted blackberries, tree roots and even fungi. We sang ‘I Had A Little Nut Tree’ too and did some Room On The Broom role play.
We have used our best painting and cutting skills to make our own ‘Wrens’ woodland as a group entry to the Pirton Pumpkin Show, if you go along to we hope that you enjoy our creativity.
