We have continued learning about Birthdays this week and have had a real one to celebrate! Learning about Birthdays has helped us to get to know each other better and has helped us to learn about the past, present (we know it as now) and future.
In maths we have been sorting items into sets, asking your children to help you sort laundry or put cutlery out would be great ways to extend this learning at home. We have also been comparing amounts using the words more and fewer.
In phonics this week we began our learning about specific letters, we have covered s and a. Please try and spot these letters at home. Don’t forget you have access to Bug Club to engage with at home as well as reading books.
Drawing Club was well loved this week, we used the animation Road Runner as our inspiration. The children found it hilarious, feel free to watch some more episodes at home.
Another highlight of our week was Forest School. We stayed out all afternoon in the rain and the children were amazingly resilient. Ask them about the traditional playground games we played. We are encouraging the children to play these at lunchtime.
Thank you to everyone that has sent in photographs and ‘junk’ from home. This is really helpful.
