Happy Harvest Festival And Poetry Day!

What a busy week!  We have learnt about Harvest Festival and joined the rest of the school to celebrate it.  We were kind and gave food to people who need it more than us.  We have also been learning about Autumn, we will find out more about this next week.  In particular we have been thinking about the weather, plants and animals at autumn time.  Though it seems like this weekend will feel more like summer!

On Tuesday we had Forest School, we worked together to produce a transient art piece, it was an autumn wreath.  We managed hazards and respected our environment while we did this.

On Wednesday it was National Poetry Day, we loved hearing poems about food which linked into our learning about Harvest and our phonics book, From Seed To Sandwich.  We performed a poem in celebration assembly which helped to remind us to be respectful, it was called Brian’s Picnic.  Ask us about the other poems we enjoyed.

In maths we have been learning about measuring and Mrs Cruise brought lots of boxes from her house, we had fun investigating their capacity.  We also loved using balance scales to compare mass.  It would be fantastic if the children could do some baking at home to consolidate this learning.

Enjoy the sun and have a great weekend.
