We have had a great first week back at school, we have continued to learn about celebrations. Two of us celebrated our birthdays in the holiday so we had fun talking about those. We also shared our memories of Halloween and the Firework Displays we had been to, we are really getting to grips with the concepts of past, now and the future. We learnt about Guy Fawkes and fire safety too. We explored different ways of representing fireworks including modelling, cutting and sticking, printing, pastels, using technology and wax relief paintings. We continued learning about Diwali too, see our other post to find out more about that.
We continued to learn new sounds in phonics, and this week we had a go at writing sentences using finger spaces. In drawing club we watched The Wombles tidy up some autumn leaves and created our own womble stories. We also tried to clear the leaves from the playground like wombles. In maths we have been focussing on the numbers four and five and using manipulatives to represent them in different ways.
To end the week we were awarded the certificate for Best Attendance in Celebration Assembly, our attendance was an amazing 100%!
