Last week in Maths we started looking at place value in numbers up to 1 million. We started by reminding ourselves of the place value names before moving on to comparing and ordering numbers. We had great fun playing a game called ‘Crooked Millionaire’ where we had to try and make the largest number. We took it in turns to roll a 10-sided dice and could choose to put the digit in one of our own place value columns or our partner’s. Some children were very sneaky and gave their partner 0 millions so they would definitely win. This is a great game that can easily be repeated at home for a bit of extra practice.
