In our PSHE lesson this week, the children in Swifts have been learning about the importance of positive friendships and how to recognise the key characteristics of a good friend. They are beginning to understand that positive friendships are built on qualities such as kindness, trust, and respect, and they are exploring what they personally value in their own friendships. Furthermore, the children are also learning that friendships aren’t always positive and that it is okay to feel unhappy if a friendship isn’t making them feel good. They are being encouraged to think about what they can do if they find themselves in an unhappy friendship and are learning who they can turn to at school, such as their teacher or a trusted adult, for support with any friendship problems.
