Our art unit this half term is all about weaving. We have experienced some weaving and seen a replica loom on our recent visit to West Stow Anglo-Saxon village. We also looked at how weaving has changed over time. Did you know that weaving was originally introduced by the Ancient Egyptians?
After this it was time for us to have a go ourselves. Using cardboard looms and plastic needles we learnt how to create the waft so we could then weave. Below is the work we created. Next week we will be exploring different materials that can be used in weaving to create a wall hanging.
