I have to congratulate the new Wrens and their parents for a fantastic start to the children’s learning journey at Pirton. All the hard work we put into transition has paid off and we have had thirteen children happily coming into school everyday! What super resilience the children, and their families, have shown! As a result of this we won the best class for attendance and punctuality this week, a brilliant start.
We have focused on getting to know each other and the children getting to know their new environment and new routines this week. I’m particularly pleased to see all the children tucking into a nutritious school lunch and managing the lunchtime routine with the help of the buddies from Owls.
All except one of the children have come from the same pre-school, it has been lovely to see how kind the group have been to that child, helping her to feel included in their play. We have been learning our Pirton school rules, which are Be Safe, Be Kind and Be Positive. I have certainly seen all the children do all three of these and am looking forward to seeing more of these great learning behaviours next week.
