Welcome to Robins. Robins are taught by Miss Sian Dunham with TA support from Mrs Zoe Woodward.
Miss Dunham works part time and teaches the class from Tuesdays to Fridays. On Mondays, Mrs. Marinho teaches the class and she also teaches them on Tuesday mornings whilst Miss Dunham has her PPA (Planning, Preparation and release time.) Robins has our 22 Year One children in it.
Curriculum
Our curriculum is bespoke to our school and has been tailored to meet the needs of our pupils, helping them to make progress academically whilst supporting them with their learning behaviours.
We aim to incorporate different aspects of Pirton School’s 6Rs into our curriculum over the whole year. The children will be developing skills they will use for the rest of their time at Pirton and for their lives beyond school.
Key Information
Homework will be set on a Thursday and collected in on a Tuesday.
PE will take place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
If you would like to contact Miss Dunham, please contact the admin team and they will pass on your email.
Phonics and Reading
In Robins, there is a big focus on phonics as this is the building blocks for successful reading and writing. We use Bug Club Phonics and all children are able to access ebooks at home.
In October, we held a Phonics meeting for parents/carers to explain about the Phonics Screening Test which children will complete in June. More information about this can be found in the documents below.
